Wow, I'm going to start off by saying what a poor review for an outstanding rock solid product! So the reviewer forgot to mention what system, computer processor and memory size he had. So he saw some lag in looping etc... Ok, did you check your personal system or did you install it on the old powerbook collecting dust in the back room. Here is the facts: Megaseg 4.50 running on a 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo with 1 GB of RAM on OS X 10.5.5 works very fast and responsive with no lag. None. This is with an external drive with 65.000 songs in various bit rates of MP3 and ACC from iTunes plus 13,000 music Videos in Divx, MOV(H263) and Apples new H264 codec (720x480). I'm also using a PCDJ DAC-3 usb midi controller and M-Audio Connective for 2 stereo outputs. Both audio and video works fluidly with no latency, instant looping, cue point selection and editing. This has been a great program since I ran it in 1998 on a G3 266mhz for both mp3 and mov movies. It was the first DJ app that supported video (and anything else Quicktime can playback) and most of the "growing pains" between updates were cause mostly by Apple itself. Megaseg is and was designed as a very robust Radio automation program. They added support for the newly emerging Digital DJ and they continue to upgrade and enhance ALL features in one of the most Rock Solid apps. It can and does run 24/7 in many stations and resaurants and has a feature set that is unrivaled by any one software package for both Mac and PC. I have yet to see one other DJ app that supports easy sorting and searching of a library over 20,000 songs. The only thing that it does not currently support is effects and scratching. Hmmm you can add another USB soundcard and use another app and controller for that with a much more culled library . I have but I find myself switching back to Megaseg more and more it is that much more solid.
