UltraMixer provides a variety of fading and transitioning options, even allowing users to modify preset transitions. UltraMixer also provides intuitive beat aware loop functions, top-notch synchronizing tools and a pitch adjustment tool that features both scroll bar and accurate metered tabs for precise pitch adjustment.

UltraMixer includes multiple samples and effects, adding extra texture and body to songs and their transitions. Best of all, UltraMixer includes a master clock for improved set management.

Input/Output:  

UltraMixer can import a variety of audio file formats, including MP3, WAV, IP3 and others, as well as serving as a line-in for MIDI devices, such as MP3, vinyl and CD decks. The MIDI control functions are conveniently located on the interface, providing for quick and easy access.

UltraMixer can publish DJ sets to CD and Mpeg, as well as broadcast recorded sets online.

Performance:  

UltraMixer is a strong performer, particularly when set in an automated mode. All DJ Software programs are bound to come with a few bugs or glitches; UltraMixer is no different. However, given its strong features and tools, these faults are a major blow to an otherwise seamless program.

Help/Support:  

UltraMixer hosts an online community for broadcasting sets and giving and receiving feedback, as well as a forum for technical assistance and user tutorials. A FAQs page is also located on the website, with additional assistance provided by email.

While UltraMixer boasts a streamlined, user-friendly interface and top-notch mixing and mastering tools, it falls short of other programs that provide similarly styled interfaces and tools without the coding problems.

UltraMixer should not be discounted completely. With a little work, it is likely to become a very popular, widely-used program, but until then, look to TRAKTOR.
